To the right worsll. mr. robt Sackeville esquire at his howse a Bolbrooke. give these
Sr. I vnderstand by my servaunts whome I put in trust to deliver my ordnance vnto you, that they have made delivery to your vse at millall, of 44 ton 200 & 3 quarters, and at Lewes of 28 ton and 1300. before you had receaved of me at maidstone which I have your acquittance for, 79 ton and certain hundreds of ordnance, which in all coms to 152 ton & 3 quarters of a hundred. which is two ton more then I made bargaine with you for. Therefore having delivered the peeces I hope you will not refuse to give order that I may have the bonds into mine owne handes. for so was it agreed betweene vs, and our letter to my L. of Bergveny is to this effect, that when I shall appeere vnto him from vs both, that I have delivered to your vse 80 ton of ordnance, he should deliver me the two first bonds, and when I had delivered other fifty ton, then he should deliver me the third bond. And these quantities were so named in the letter becawse I had delivered xx ton before, som at london and som at millall. therefore vnder favour? there can be no cullour to detaine my bonds any longer from mee/ Touching the xxv ton for which I receaved part of the monny of Di??cher before his breaking and the residue was paid since to mr. Sugdon, I have given order to my man to make delivery of them at lewes, viz to deliver 22 tone 1900 & on quarter, wch. with the 2 ton and 3 quarters of a hundred that hath bin delivered to your vse above the hundred & fifty ton maketh vp the full som of xxv ton. likewise for the peeces which remaine due vpon the reckoning to mr. Englestead (allthough the matter nothing concerne you nor any bargaine I have made with you) I have given order for the satisfaccion of him, and have written to my man to deliver to him so manny as remaine at lewes over & above those which I have appointed for you, and the rest vpon our next speech and reckoning I have appointed to deliver him at maidstone Thus much I have thought good Sr. to write vnto you that you may see my intention to be the same now which I hope you have allwaies conceaved yt to be, namely to performe iustly & honnestly whatsoever bargaine I have made. I pray you on the other side, that you will take order for the delivery of the bonds vnto mee according to the agreement on your part. And so with my very greate thankes for the warrant you bestowed on me for a bucke, with offer of all my poore meanes at your commaundment I take my leave. from Pillingbeare the first of August
