The canonical v17 discovery corpus currently contains 165 letter records, including variant witnesses; this is not yet an audited distinct-text count. It is predominantly outgoing and recipient-archive shaped. The principal current expansion lanes are incoming State Papers, the Winwood archive, the Cecil Papers, Neville/Aldworth family papers, and foreign diplomatic/reportage archives.
August 2026 addendum
The focused pass dated 9 August 2026 identifies six outgoing Neville-to-Winwood calendar entries not represented in v17, one direct Savile-to-Neville fragment, a probable second witness of a Privy Council act, and a possible third-party Royston enclosure. All six outgoing entries have been in print since 1899. It also identifies a high-value but contested 1597 Cecil item that must not be attributed to the Billingbear Henry without manuscript identity controls.
