Transcription by John O'Donnell.

Sr. I am much bound to my lorde of Cramborn for his favourable remembrance of
mee in mine absence, and to you, for your so willing and carefull vndertaking, that
which he committed to you. I have considdered of the draught of the warrant, and to
my vnderstanding, I find yt very sufficient. There past the like for my E. of Rutland &
other, at the kings first cõming, with which yf yt please you to compare yt, you
shallbe resolved yf you doubt of any thinge. for the date of my conveyance to my lord
Treasorour & the rest, I assure you I know yt not. for mr. Attorney never would
deliver me any counterpart, saying yt was not needefull. for my part I thinke yt not
necessary to mencion yt in the warrant, but that yt willbe sufficient, yf those wordes
be all left out which I have underlined. In the other booke which is ingrossed &
signed by mr. Attorney, there needes no allteracion as I remember, but of Rex for
Regina in the first word, and in one other place where yt calleth king Edward
præcharissimus frater noster, and must now be made præchar: consanguineus
noster. which is an allteracion but of one word. But yf yt please you to give it a
reading over, you will best discerne what allteracions are needefull. I am necessaryly
to stay heere till monday for the heering of a cawse referred vnto me by order of the
chauncery: which don, I will hasten vp presently. In the meane time I commend my
busynes vnto that love of yours which hath never fayled mee, and will be your debtor
for all, till I may have som opportunyty to shew my self thankefull. And so with my
wifes kind commendacions vnto you & mine owne, I take my leave & remaine
your very assured freend
ever to be disposed of.

from Pillingbeare the
xviith of January 1604
